Drinking Beer At 10,300 FT.

As we make our way further into New Mexico... We started out with a bit of trouble.
Our hitch... Our damn tow hitch. I wasn't real happy with the way the trailer was sitting while pulling it down the road. So I decided it was time to rip it apart and put it back together so it road nice and flat.

Before we moved the hitch... See how it is kind of pointed downward a few inches. This position could lead to less control of the RV, less traction, and poor fuel mpg.

After Kate and I moved the RV hitch up a few inches, this is what it looked like.

Now, with the improvement, we have gotten a bit better fuel mileage, but when we pull into a site late at night and don't feel like unhooking, we are almost level! This is a huge bonus and well worth the hours it took me to fix the hitch. Plus it is way safer!
Then we headed to the Sandia Mountains and rode the longest tram in America to the top of the mountain. We went on a short hike, and Chase loved walking along the tall cliffs. But I wasn't a huge fan of heights. We topped off the day with a couple of beers, and Chase had the most expensive orange juice ($13). So, if you are gonna take the tram, make sure you pack your own beers and snacks to save a few bucks.

After a long day on the top of the mountain... We camped at our first Golf Course, Harvest Host. I loved the idea of pulling into a golf course because the likelihood of hitting some balls was almost guaranteed.

The few days we spent in New Mexico were well worth it. The people were friendly, and the top of the mountain was a memory we won't forget. Chase learned I am not big on cliffs. HAHA. If you get a chance take a look at our Vlog of our journey below!
