We Had No Clue It Was Haunted

When planning your trip across the country, it is difficult to plan every night of your stay. So we use things like Harvest Host, Cracker Barrels, and even Overlander to find those spots to spend a safe, quiet night between destinations.
When I came across Two Guns Arizona, I did little research into the history but later realized it was the home of some horrible crimes. But more on that later!
We took off from New Mexico and headed to our next destination, which was filled with history, dinosaur bones, and some of the most natural beauty this nation has to offer. The Petrified Forest National Park.
A travel tip if you are traveling west on Interstate 40. The exit before the Petrified Forest is excellent if you get into town late, as the next best option is almost 20 miles west. We pulled off the road and set up camp, knowing we were only spending the night.
The following morning, we made our way into the park and spent almost 5 hours exploring. We checked out some of the buildings and newspaper rock, and saw the different colored mountain ranges.

Inside the park, the road is capable of dragging your RIG. It was relatively smooth, and there was plenty of space to pull off safely.

After leaving the Forest we spent the night in the free camping at the south entrance to the park. There are no hookups, and it is first come, first serve. It was relatively flat, with views of petrified wood everywhere!

We continued west for about an hour with the anticipation of 2 Guns. I was excited to get the generator out and charge up what needed to be charged. 2 Guns has a great exit and plenty of spots to pull off and boondock! But I will warn you! It is the home of a mass murder and was home to Billy the Kid. More on that if you watch our entire YouTube Video. WATCH...

The site was quite and maybe a little too quite but we enjoyed our stay. Plus we did a couple of hikes through the ghost town. Checking out the abandoned Mountain Lion Zoo.

Check out this weeks Video as we go into depth about what generator we use and how to find a spooky ghost town to camp at. Remember stay adventurous!
